Indian men's hockey team beats Argentina 2-1 in Rio Olympics
India's chances of reaching the quarter finals remained alive as the men's hockey team beat Argentina 2-1 in yesterday's match.

In the crucial match of Group B at the Rio Olympics, Chinglensana Singh and Kothajit Singh scored a goal each.

India dominated for most part of the match, especially in the first three quarters. But, Argentina, thanks to a goal from Gonzalo Pelliat, made a strong comeback in the match. They started attacking more and more on the Indian side with long scoops in the air and hardly allowed the Indians to possess the ball in the fourth quarter.

Argentina won three consecutive penalty corners in the last and final quarter, but could not convert them into goals. In the end it was a thorough performance from Roelant Oltman's boys that won them the match. India have beaten Argentina for the first time after 2009.

India now have a realistic chance of making it to the knockouts with two games to go. India have two wins from three games so far, having beaten Ireland and Argentina. India's only loss so far came against Germany.

India now have to play a game against Canada and another against Netherlands. Although, Canada is a relatively easier side, Netherlands are tough to beat. Group B, in which India are placed, is considered to be a tough group with sides like Germany and Netherlands.
