Apple to unveil it's 4-inch iPhone SE today: Here's what we know about it so far
Apple is holding an event today at it's headquarters in Cupertino, California in the Silicon Valley to unveil new devices and software updates, including the much talked about rumoured 4-inch iPhone. The code name for the mystery device is the iPhone SE.

A recently leaked device box has revealed that the 4-inch iPhone will be called the iPhone SE and not iPhone 5se, as Apple decided to do away with the `5' from the name, which means that it would be the second device after the original first generation iPhone to be launched without a number in its name.

The iPhone SE is expected to replace the iPhone 5s and is expected to be priced at the same level. It is also said that with regards to design, the iPhone SE has borrowed heavily from the iPhone 6, with a power button on the side, a feature which was introduced by Apple in the iPhone 6 for the first time owing to the length of the device.

The iPhone SE is likely to be almost similar to the iPhone 5s, but with a slightly curved 2.5D glass. The device is also expected to have a 12MP rear camera, instead of the previously rumoured 8 MP.

The device will be powered by an Apple A8 chipset with a M8 co-processor, the same being used in the iPhone 6 models.

The device is expected to offer 16GB and 64GB storage variants with a 1642mAh battery. However the device will not have 3D Touch, which Apple has decided to keep exclusive with the iPhone 6s.

The predicted price of the iPhone SE is expected to be between US$ 400 to US$ 500. By going conservative with the price Apple will be trying to target the mid to low segment which could help drive sales in emerging markets like India and China.
